Excuses for not sharing your faith...

What are your excuse for not sharing your faith?

1. “It’s the pastor’s job, not mine.” (According to Ephesians 4:11,12 his job is to equip you to do the work.)

2. “I don’t know what to say.” (There are plenty of resources out there to help you!)

3. “I just live the gospel with my life.” (Good, now open your mouth and declare the good news!)

4. “I’m waiting for the perfect timing.” (There’s no such thing!)

5. “I don’t have the gift of evangelism.” (Well, I don’t have the gift of mercy but I still should show mercy!)

6. “They could reject me.” (No, Jesus said they will reject you…at times anyway.”

7. “I have bad breath.” (Testamints!)

8. “I don’t know how to bring it up.” (How about just ask, “What are your spiritual beliefs?”)

9. “I’m terrified.” (So am I. So was Paul! Let’s ask God for boldness like he did! Ephesians 6:19)

10. “They may ask me a question I don’t have the answer to.” (You don’t have to know all the answers. You just need to introduce them to the One who does!)

This Glass of Water Can Kill You

Once a professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see and asked the students, “how much do you think this glass weighs? Maybe it's 50gms,100gms or 125gms?".

The students answered, “I really don’t know unless I weigh it.”
The professor said, "Now, my question is: 'What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?’"
‘Nothing’ the students said.
“Okay, what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?” the professor asked.
“Your arm would begin to ache” said one of the students.
“You’re right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?”
“Your arm could go numb!
"You might have severe muscle stress and even paralysis! You'll then have to go to hospital for sure!" Ventured another student. All the students laughed.
“Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass of water change?” Asked the professor.
“No” was the reply of all the students.
“Then what caused the arm to ache and the muscle to become stressed?”
After a pause the professor asked “Before my arm aches, what should I do?”
The students were puzzled.
“Put the glass down!” said one of the students.
“Exactly!” said the professor, “Life’s problems are exactly like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your head; they seem all right. Think of them for a long time and they begin to ache. Hold it even longer and they will begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything.”
It’s important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY, you have to learn how to ‘put them down’. At the end of every day before you go to sleep, commit every care and stress of the day to the Lord. You will be surprise that many of the so-called 'problems' may look different after a good night rest.
By the grace of God, you will wake up refreshed, energized and ready to face another day!
Remember to put the glass down at the end of every day!

God, May I ask You a Question?

Me: God, can I ask You a question?

God: Sure

Me: Promise You won't get mad
... ... ... ...
God: I promise

Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?

God: What do u mean?

Me: Well, I woke up late

God: Yes

Me: My car took forever to start

God: Okay

Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait

God: Huummm

Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call

God: All right

Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?

God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one
of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that

Me (humbled): OH

GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.

Me: (ashamed)

God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work.

Me (embarrassed):Okay

God: Your phone went dead bcuz the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered.

Me (softly): I see God

God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.

Me: I'm Sorry God

God: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me.... in All things , the Good & the bad.

Me: I will trust You.

God: And don't doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan.

Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for Everything today.

God: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I Love looking after My Children...

REPOST if you Believe in HIM ♥
Worth posting.

The Stranger In My House

A few years after I was born, my Dad met a 'stranger' who was new to our small town.

From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family.

The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on.

As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family.

In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors:

Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey.

But the stranger... He was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies.

If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game.

He made me laugh, and he made me cry.

The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind.

Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to the kitchen for peace and quiet. (I wonder now if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.)

Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them.

Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home - not from us, our friends or any visitors.

After our long time visitor stayed longer he became more daring however, and even got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush.

My Dad didn't permit the liberal use of alcohol but the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular basis.

He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly, and pipes distinguished.

He talked freely (much too freely!) about sex.

His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing..

I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly by the stranger.

Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked...

And NEVER asked to leave.

More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first.

Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today, you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures.

His name?... We just call him "TV".

He has a wife now....we call her "Computer".

Their first child is "Cell Phone".

Second child "I Pod".

God Does Exist

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touc...hed on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

School eBook Library

Just recently, in search of reading materials and online story books for my kids who are home schooled, I found a site that offered a whole range of eBooks in PDF format.  there are more then 800 titles of Children Literature.

You may visit the site and download some over 50 titles of Children books for free.  And if you want more, you may join membership which cost only US$8.95 per year.  This is very cheap compare to the cost you have to pay for a physical book.  Also it will save you much shelving space.  Of course most of the books are old classics.

School eBook Library is a branch of World Public Library Association.  You may visit the site at: http://schoollibrary.com

Help! My DVD drive is missing!

I was using a laptop given by a friend, and everything was ok until recently.  The DVD drive went missing.

Initially, the laptop shows symptom of breaking down.  It was not able to write to a DVD or CD, and occasionally it was not able to read.  Then one day, it decided not to appear at all in my windows explorer.  For a while I thought may be it was over heated, and it should come back after turning off the laptop and let it rest for a while.  However, that doesn't work.  So thought I could be driver problem.  So I went to have a look at the device manager.  And true enough,  there was a yellow exclamation mark for the DVD/CD drive, indicating that somehow there is an error with the driver.

Further investigation reveals that there are some problem in the registry.  So I thought may be I will remove the driver, and re-install again should solve the problem.  But it was not as easy as I thought.  Trying to update the driver also doesn't help.  Finally, after trying all that I could, I decided to google for a solution.

I found one suggested solution is to do something to the registry.  Well that might do the job since the error indicated that there is problem in the registry.  So I followed carefully the following steps :

1. Click Start, then Run, type REGEDT and click OK.

2. Locate and then remove the following registry values:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClassLowerFilters

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClassUpperFilters

3. Close Registry Editor.

4. Reboot the system for the changes to take effect.

After rebooting, I started the windows explorer, and what do you know?!! I got my DVD drive back.  Praise the Lord!

I inserted a CD and it is reading well.  I guess I have resolved my missing DVD mystery.

This is recorded for my future reference and also for anyone who faced the same problem I have.

Getting Outlook Express to Send Email Over VPN

Recently I have subscribed to a VPN connection.  While connected to the VPN, I tried to send email using my Outlook Express, I recevied an error message:

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'xxxxxxx@gmail.com'. Subject 'test11.11', Account: 'mail.xxxxxxx.com', Server: 'smtp.xxxxxxx.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 <xxxxxxx@gmail.com>... Relaying denied. Proper authentication required.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

It just refused to send out my email.  But once I disconnect myself from the VPN and connect just with my normal ISP internet connection, I was able to send the email without problem.

After doing some research, I came to a solution.  All I need to do is to set my out going Mail [SMTP] port to "587'" instead of the usual "25".

And yes the mail sent out without any problem.
